Students Speak Out

Students Speak Out: Minnesota

Out of what I have read which are the most focused or controversial issues of bullying these are some main points . . .
1) Teachers either have a large empact on the bullying or minimal and that student involvment is without doubt a large contributor to the ending of bullying. Does anyone think otherwise?

2) Administration should have some system in place which should addresses bullying at some level which is different than what we do now. Whether that is being there for students who are bullied by handling the situation appropriately, or leaving the students to fight for themselves and each other to learn lessons and to stick up for each other.
Other main focus here?

3) It has a lot to do with human nature. We can not eliminate it for many reasons. The way we learn about how to deal with issues comes from these kind of lessons.

4) Dynamics don't change for issues as we get older, just the specifics. Bullying will develop as we get older into many different forms of confrontations of different kinds.

5) Many variables go into people's bullying, and also how it will play out.

As more postings come I will add to this, but these are some main points we are building discussions and ideas off of.
